The Cost of Resilience
Resilience does not mean being able to go through life without experiencing difficulties or challenges. It doesn’t work that way. Resilience shows up when things are difficult and challenging and ironically, it often doesn’t feel like resilience (whatever resilience is meant to feel like). It also develops with experience as we learn what we are actually able to endure. Having someone to cheer us on helps, but in the end, it is up to the one who is enduring the difficult stuff to keep going – and that is the hard part.
