Wellbeing in the Workplace

Workshop Description.

This workshop aims to help participants recognise potential stressors within the workplace. Participants identify what is within their control and what is not, and explore strategies for responding in ways that are helpful for one’s wellbeing. Aspects of wellbeing are discussed in regards to how wellbeing can be encouraged through self-care and restoration. Strategies are explored that assist in creating personal boundaries and making values-based decisions. Using strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, participants are taught about psychological flexibility in being able to respond to thoughts, emotions and events with a sense of openness and non-judgement. Participants will also be taught strategies to help them recognise unhelpful thinking and behaviour, as well as techniques to promote positive outcomes.

3 Steps to Prevent Teacher Burnout

The job of being a teacher can be difficult and demanding.  There are many different factors that can contribute to the stress of the job.  What can you do to prevent yourself from becoming a Burnout victim.  What 3 strategies can you use to make sure that you protect yourself and not allow the demands of the job to leave you in a place of deficit?  This two-hour interactive workshop assists teachers by identifying what leads to the stress in the job.  We then explore the 3 strategies of Boundaries, Self-care and Community, to assist with wellbeing and restoration.
